Opening Matches for PGL Major Antwerp Revealed
The organizers of the upcoming PGL Major Antwerp 2022 have revealed the schedule of the event and the its opening matches. The major is scheduled to start next Monday, May 9th with its first Challengers Stage – it will feature sixteen teams competing in a Swiss System with best-of-one regular matches and best-of-three decider matches.
The first stage will last four days and determine eight teams to advance to the second Legends Stage, which will be played on May 14th – 17th. There they will face the leaders of the RMR events – Heroic, Copenhagen Flames, BIG, Cloud9, FURIA Esports, FaZe Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas and Natus Vincere. The second stage will also feature a Swiss System and determine eight participants of the Champions Stage (May 19th – 22nd), which will feature a single-elimination bracket with bo3 matches.
PGL Major Antwerp 2022 is this year’s first CS:GO major. Unlike the previous major – PGL Major Stockholm 2021, which featured an increased prize pool of $2,000,000 – this time the major returns to the standard prize pool of $1,000,000. The tournament’s final Champions Stage will be played at the arena Antwerps Sportpaleis with a maximum capacity of 23,000.
