IEM XVII – Dallas: FaZe and ENCE to Playoffs
Yesterday marked the start of Intel Extreme Masters Season XVII - Dallas. The competition began with the group stage, featuring two GSL groups.
FaZe Clan and ENCE have become the first two teams to secure their places in the playoffs, as they managed to win their first two matches – while FaZe outplayed Encore (16:5) and Vitality (2-0), ENCE managed to defeat MOUZ (16:9) and G2 Esports (2-0). Now they will face each other in the Upper Bracket Final (June 1st, 8:30 PM UK time) – the winner will qualify for the semifinals, while the defeated team will start in the quarterfinals.
Later tonight the group will feature the second round of the lower bracket – there Vitality will face MOUZ (8:30 PM), while G2 will play with Astralis (12:00 AM). The defeated teams will be eliminated from the event.

Group B currently lags behind, as only the first round of the upper bracket was played. Today the event will start with the first round of the lower bracket (5:00 PM), where Imperial will take on Liquid, while NiP will face Complexity. The pairs for the upper bracket are: FURIA vs Cloud9 (8:30 PM), BIG vs MIBR (12:00 AM).

The group stage will conclude tomorrow at night. The playoffs stage will be played on June 3rd – 5th and follow a single-elimination format, where quarterfinals and semifinals will be best-of-three, while the grand finale will be best-of-five.
Intel Extreme Masters XVII – Dallas takes place in Dallas, United States, and features a $250,000 prize pool. The event is part of the ESL Pro Tour as a Masters event.
