Heroic to Compete at IEM Cologne without Hunden
Heroic have announced that their CS:GO team will compete at the upcoming IEM Cologne without their head coach, Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen. The organization has not explained the reasons behind this decisions but mentioned that the players will be accompanied by mental & performance coach Troels “robl” Robl and physical coach Kasper Straube.
The news come amidst unconfirmed information that HUNDEN is likely to transfer to Astralis. According to hltv, Danny "zonic" Sørensen is looking to leave his current team once his contract experience later this December. The portal claims that Astralis are preparing for changes and that HUNDEN is on top of their list of coaching candidates.
A professional player from 2009 to 2020, 30-years-old HUNDEN switched to coaching and joined Heroic last April. Sixth month later however he was forced to step down from his role due to receiving a ban from ESIC for abusing a spectator bug. He returned to his coaching responsibilities this April.
Heroic will debut at IEM Cologne 2021 on July 9th. The team has been seeded into Group B alongside Natus Vincere, FURIA Esports, and Astralis. Their opponent for the first match however will be one of the teams advanced from the event’s Play-In stage.
