Evil Geniuses have become the first team to be eliminated from BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2022. Yesterday they lost to GODSENT with a 2-0 score – 8:16 at Overpass and 11:16 at Mirage.

Following the team’s elimination from the event Evil Geniuses’ CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson released a following statement: “Disappointing finish in CS:GO today - I'm sorry to all the fans...we are not complacent with these results and are committed to making changes to improve!”.

Evil Geniuses started this year by acquiring three prominent players – Jacky "Stewie2K" Yip, Timothy "autimatic" Ta and William "RUSH" Wierzba. These roster changed have not resulted in an improved performance, as recently the team failed to qualify for both PGL Major Antwerp and IEM Dallas: North America, as well as finished last at ESL Pro League Season 15.

Later today FURIA Esports will take on ATK (9:30 PM). Initially they were supposed to face Sharks Esports; however, they were unable to attend the event due to traveling issues. Apparently, the team experienced some issues with their tickets and will receive a place at the later event of the series.

BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2022 has started today will conclude on May 1st. The tournament’s prize pool is set at $67,500. The winner will qualify for the league’s Spring Finals with $425,000 at stake.
